Photobirder: Mystery Birds

The place where photographs of unknown birds await identification from the internet-capable birding community. Usually the birds that end up on this page are either poorly photographed, or from one of those confusing groups of birds that all look nearly the same (flycatchers). I very much welcome feedback about these birds so please direct any comments about these birds to towhee@photobirder.com.


Here is a Hummingbird that was photographed in El Valle Panama in March 2008. This is a more typical mystery bird in that the photograph is not especially good.

A well photographed flycatcher - most likely of the genus Empidonax (latin for photographer's bane: OK I made that up).
